Gyroscopic levitation module for seat systems: The interface between human and seat surface focusses on health, mobility and life quality for wheelchair users. With the “CoSeat”, sitting in an electric wheelchair becomes three-dimensionally- and highly-dynamically-driven by the user, controlled and customized to his or her needs. The complex mechatronic could be economically achieved with plain bearing systems from igus® dry-tech®. iglidur® J plain bearings are used, as well as iglidur® X thrust washers. By using plain bearings, typical requirements to medical products in the area of seating could be implemented into the design: Maintenance-free usage in the indoor and outdoor areas, failure safety, and maximum movability. In addition, highest requirements are set for the disinfection of multi-resistant germs for clinical usage.
