Transfer table

This transfer table in the English harbour town of Felixstowe ensures that railway engines are moved quickly to the correct one of eight tracks. Engines weighing up to 170 tonnes are pushed over a distance of more than 30 metres. To route the cables from the control unit to the transfer table safely in the long term even under the extreme weather conditions and salty air at the harbour, and to keep maintenance times to a minimum, the operator decided in favour of a stainless steel flizz® system from igus® which uses an e-chain® of the E4 serie and chainflex® cables.
